In this video, Dafna Talmor talks about her constructed landscapes. She says she makes utopian landscapes, meaning a perfect, idealistic place. Dafna Talmor also mentions that constructed landscapes allows her to engage the meaning/history behind the photograph. She finds this very interesting and wants to continue exploring further. Talmor said she found limitations inspiring, which would cause her frustration therefore, she led to the idea of going to different places which had personal meanings, in order to create idealised utopian landscapes.

Dionne Lee is using different landscapes and tearing them up and cutting them, in my opinion I found this very odd and boring, because it was quite confusing as to what she did. I think she could've improved this by adding a VoiceOver/narration as to what she was doing or she could've added music in the background or little captions saying what she was doing.
This film is an example of a constructed landscape because Lee has taken different landscapes to make different collages and make one landscape. Lee made these by tearing them and cutting them. I didn't quite like the video because I was confused and it was quite boring. It is different from normal landscapes because it is using different landscapes to make one big landscape or different collages. I think Lee is quite proud of her work because the landscapes she has are quite good. |
